The ACO is planning to run 2 further Gold Award Cyber Courses, of 1 week duration, at RAF Cosford. These will be for 10 cadets and 2 staff.
With the progressive syllabus for Cyber being currently developed, these courses are now open to the whole of the ACO and applications will be invited next year from cadets who will be over the age of 16 on 1 August 2017. Staff may apply with the knowledge of their Wing and be expected to fully take part in the course.
As yet there are no Bronze or Silver Level Award courses and so priority will be given to cadets who self-study, and pass, the FREE Open University course below:

It is free to register for this course and it runs for 8 weeks expecting to take 2 to 3 hours a week. The next course starts in January 2017 and you do need to register. There is also a course currently running which started in October. Candidates for the course can join part way through but MUST complete by the deadline. (Several Cadets who had time to spare completed the whole course in a free weekend)
A screenshot of your passing the course is required with the application form which will be available on SharePoint from the end of January, with a last submission date of mid-May 2017. In future years, the entry standard will be the passing of Bronze and Silver Level Cyber Awards. When ACTO 71 is rewritten that will become the reference ACTO for these courses.
